The University of Belgrade Faculty of Law, the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”, Department for Economics and Finance and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development had a great pleasure to welcome the 5th generation of students of Master in Public Procurement Management at the opening ceremony which was held on September 29, 2021 at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law, with online participation of students and speakers from other countries. The fifth generation consists of 31 students from the Western Balkans region who will attend this program with the EBRD scholarship.
Students were addressed by H. E. Ambassador of Italy in Serbia Mr. Carlo Lo Cascio, EBRD Regional Director for Western Balkans Mr. Matteo Colangeli, Assistant Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development, Sector for Higher Education, Prof. Dr. Bojan Tubić and Vice-Dean for Academic Affairs at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law Prof. Dr. Bojan Milisavljević. Mr. Jan Jackholt also spoke on behalf of the EBRD while Prof. Dr. Gustavo Piga delivered a speech on behalf of the University of Rome Tor Vergata and International Master in Public Procurement Management.
Keynote speech “Public Procurement System Reform – Adoption of e-Procurement” was delivered by Mr. Veljko Sikirica, International Procurement and Engineering Expert, UN Consultant and former EBRD and IDB Expert. Moderator of this event was Prof. Dr. Dobrosav Milovanović, MPPM Director.
At the end of the opening ceremony students were addressed by Ms. Hanadi Al-Nabulsi, president of the IMPPM/MPPM Alumni Association, who presented its activities.
The 5th Belgrade MPPM edition consists of 31 students: 20 from Serbia, 6 from North Macedonia, 3 from Bosnia and Herzegovina and 2 from Montenegro.
Upon conclusion of the ceremony, introductory lecture concerning the contents of the program was delivered by Prof. Veljko Sikirica and Prof. Dobrosav Milovanović, while Ljiljana Marić on behalf of the MPPM Secretariat informed students on all administrative issues about enrolment.
In the following eight months students will attend lectures within 12 modules and continue with their internship period and preparation of the final Master’s Thesis.
